Paula Julian is an experienced brand planner and qualitative researcher who blends her strategic marketing skills with advanced professional training in human development and research. Paula has diverse experience collaborating with clients from a wide range of industries and sectors; from toys, entertainment, travel, and hospitality; to housing and real estate; communications and telecom, consumer products, education, energy, financial services, and restaurant and food services.
She consistently provides clients with innovative consumer strategies and creative insights proven to impact bottom line results. Paula has both national and International experience, and is skilled in a variety of sophisticated multi-method approaches, projective and interpretive techniques including: archetyping, ethnography, ideation, narrative, participatory action, shop-a-long, and storytelling research in mobile, in-person, and online venues. Formerly, Paula was SVP, Brand Planning for the top direct marketing agency in the U.S. – Rapp Collins Worldwide. She was lead planner on the teams that won both the 2004 Cannes Lion Award for Creative Excellence for Direct Energy’s “Rising Prices” campaign and the 2005 Direct Marketing MIXX Award for SunTrust NASCAR Winner’s Choice Online Sweepstakes. Prior to Rapp Collins, she was EVP, Planning and Research at Ackerman McQueen, where she was a core team member on major national and international accounts including LeapFrog and Six Flags. While there, Paula and her teammates won the Grand Effie award, the top award for advertising effectiveness in the country for their work on LeapFrog.
Paula has completed her doctoral studies in community psychology at the University of Missouri.
